In "Joseph Accused by Potiphar's Wife" (1655, oil on canvas), the lightest point on the canvas is the bed on which Potiphar's wife sits. Joseph can be seen in the near background, standing behind the bed. Joseph, being one of the focal points, is painted in lighter tones than the far background, which is flat. Potiphar's wife seems to be pointing toward Joseph, while Potiphar seems to be in shadow. The composition flows from right to left, as the hands create a flowing composition from Potiphar, to his wife, then to Joseph. The clothing and bedding is modeled with deep folds.
