The work pictured here is entitled "Madonna dei Pellegrini". Note that the light source seems to come from the front of the picture space. Deep shadows surround the Virgin and Child, so as to highlight and model those figures. The kneeling figures are also modeled with chiaroscuro, although these figures are not highlighted as brightly as the figures in the doorway. The background seems to fade away behind the door jam.
